Who we are

DuetWallet is a couples finance application operated by Younes Haddaj ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@duetwallet.com.

What data we collect

• Account data: when you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided name and an email address. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, that address is a private relay generated by Apple (xxx@privaterelay.appleid.com). We never see your real email. We use this data to sign you in and to pair you with your partner.
• Profile picture (optional): if you upload a photo from your camera or library, it is stored on our backend so your partner can see it in the app. You can remove it at any time from the Profile screen.
• Financial data: transactions you record in the app, envelope budgets, goal progress, Money Date session contents.
• Subscription data: the App Store handles all payment processing. We never see your card number, billing address, or Apple ID. We receive only a signed receipt from Apple confirming whether your subscription is currently active.
• Anonymous product analytics: we use Aptabase (EU-hosted) to record anonymous event counts: which features get used, where people drop in onboarding, when Money Dates start and finish. No names or emails are sent. No exact transaction amounts (only bucketed ranges like "under $50"). No device fingerprints. No cross-app or cross-website tracking. We use this solely to inform product decisions.
• Device data: when you submit our website waitlist, we record your IP address as a one-way salted hash (the raw IP is never stored) solely to rate-limit submissions.

What we do not collect or use

• We do not use advertising trackers.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or any analytics product that collects personal identifiers.
• We do not use cookies for tracking on the website (only essential cookies, if any).

How we use your data

Your account and financial data is used solely to operate the app: showing it to you, syncing it between your devices and your partner's, generating exports you request, and powering the Money Date guided conversation flow.

Your waitlist email is used only to send you one announcement when DuetWallet launches publicly.

Where your data lives

Your financial data is stored locally on each device in a SQLite database protected by iOS Data Protection, which means it is unreadable while your device is locked.

A synchronized copy lives on our backend infrastructure (Convex, hosted in Ireland in the European Union) so your partner can see what you record. Traffic between the app and the backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Analytics events go to Aptabase, also hosted in the European Union.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and financial data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete all your personal data from our backend within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics events that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You can export all your data to CSV or PDF from inside the app at any time. You can also request the following by emailing support@duetwallet.com:

• A copy of all data we hold about you (right of access).
• Correction of data that is inaccurate (right of rectification).
• Deletion of your account and associated data (right of erasure).
• Restriction or objection to specific uses of your data.
• Transfer of your data to another service in a portable format (right of portability).
• Withdrawal of consent for any processing you previously consented to.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents

If you live in California, you have the right under the CCPA to know what personal information we collect about you, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, email support@duetwallet.com.

Children's privacy

DuetWallet is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top and notify you in-app for any material change.
