Definition
A three-envelope budgeting structure where shared expenses, your personal spending, and your partner's personal spending are tracked separately.
The Ours/Yours/Theirs (sometimes called Ours/Yours/Mine) structure is a couples-specific variation on envelope budgeting. Shared expenses (rent, utilities, groceries) go in Ours. Each partner has personal spending money that the other partner doesn't track line-by-line.
The structure resolves the 'is this a shared expense?' argument before it starts.
